It also solve a problem I had while installing Rails. I got this error:

mkmf.rb can’t find header files for ruby at /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/ruby.h

But after your fix I can execute “sudo gem install rails” without problem.
